Experiences with Standard Manufacturing 1911’s?

I hear very good and some bad things about standard manufacturing I hear they have great pistols but shitty customer service is this true from any of your experiences? And if so would it be reasonable to say buy one from buds guns and pay for their warranty I believe it’s an extra $40. Just curious on what you guys think?
