[B4T] The Inheritance of Ash and Ink

The silence in the library was heavy, thick enough to taste. For three days, we had moved through this house like ghosts ourselves, avoiding eye contact in the narrow hallways and communicating only in short, functional sentences about the plumbing or the groceries. The terms of the will were a cage: six months of cohabitation, or we both lose everything. ​I was kneeling in the far corner of the library, where the shadows of the towering oak shelves seemed darkest. My fingers had caught on a splintered edge of the floorboards, and a hollow thud beneath my boots had betrayed a hidden pocket of space. It took several minutes of straining, the metal screeching against the wood, before the board gave way. ​Tucked inside was a small, rusted iron box. My heart hammered against my ribs—not with excitement, but with a sudden, cold dread. When the lid finally yielded with a sharp snap, I didn't find jewelry or gold. I found a thick bundle of envelopes, bound tightly with a frayed velvet ribbon. ​I recognized the handwriting instantly. It was the frantic, elegant script of our benefactor—written when they were much younger. I pulled the first envelope from the stack. It was addressed to you, stamped with a postmark from ten years ago, but the wax seal remained unbroken. Across the front, a post office stamp shouted in faded red ink: RETURN TO SENDER. RECIPIENT UNKNOWN. ​The floorboards creaked behind me. I didn't turn around yet, my thumb brushing over your name on the yellowed paper. ​"You told me you two hadn't spoken in a decade," I said, my voice sounding unnervingly thin in the vast, hollow room. I slowly stood up, turning to face you with the letter held out like a peace offering—or a weapon. "But they never stopped writing. Every week, for three years... they were looking for you. Why did you tell me they didn't know where you were?"

I hope you liked my little starter. For this plot I'll be playing my favorite character, Cael Bessler. I left this plot vague on purpose for us to build on. This will not be just sex scenes, I want plot too!
