Anyone have any good "You can be the exception" stories?

I'm a feminine FTM guy and recently got confessed to from a very, VERY straight friend (like, is scared to be called gay kind of straight) and when I asked if my gender was a problem, he said he "could do it if it was me." Of course, I ended it there especially after other comments he made, but it got me curious. Anyone ever been in those kinds of relationships? I'm not just talking about just guys by the way, anyone of any gender can be ignorant after all. I want to know that im not the only trans person whose dating life is shit since every other trans person i know is happily dating lol.
