AITA for not calling?
I (19F) had a friend A (18F). For context we were friends all throughout High school, but the last few months of senior year she got rude and distant because not only me but her other friends were all going to college out of town or state and she was staying in our hometown.
The issue started when her and all our mutual friends and me had one of our final get togethers before leaving and she said some racist stuff about my best friend and parents. Which even she admitted was not true. She was just jealous about how close me and my best friend got throughout the year and she felt left out. Eveb though I would always text and call to hang out and we would hang out almost 4 days a week.
She also stole 2 of my brand new Summer Fridays lip glosses and sold them to a mutual friend without telling me. She would also invite herself to grad parties and it became a big thing because the grad didn't want her there and she would invite other people the grad didn't know saying it would be fine. There's a lot more but those are the main examples.
After that I kind of went off on her the racist comment was just too much and I snapped. I texted her about how I felt about the situation and she played dumb to the whole night. We tried to resolve things around September but it's never been the same which I'm not honestly upset about because of how she treated everyone.
One of our mutual friends brought it up last week and asked how I confronted her back in the summer. I said I texted her. My friend said I was kind of a dick for that as calling would have made it easier to defuse the situation and would have made her feel better about being put on the spot. I explained I messaged her because I knew she would play dumb about the whole situation and she did. I literally have screenshot proof of her lying her way out of saying the racist comment. My friend said I was immature and an ass about how I confronted her. So AITA?
