Grad School Textbooks

I am about to get textbooks for my first semester of grad school. I was wondering if I should get physical copies or rent them. I didn’t keep any books from my undergrad but I was thinking that some of these books may be good to keep. I was wondering what peoples opinions were on buying your own copy to keep vs. renting a copy. Do you go back and reference any textbooks from previous semesters?
