My scared spaghetti’s Nov. 25th
November 25 will always live in my body.
Not as a date but as the moment everything ruptured.
We fought. Voices rose. Fear entered the room. And something sacred between us broke open in a way I didn’t yet understand.
You felt unsafe enough to call the police.
That truth humbles me.
I have replayed that night more times than I can count — not to rewrite it, but to face what I became in that moment.
I didn’t know how to stop when emotions flooded my nervous system. I followed instead of pausing. I pushed for resolution instead of choosing safety. I thought being heard mattered more than being steady.
It didn’t.
I understand now that fear is loud, fast, and narrowing. It demands answers, closeness, control. Safety is quieter. It slows the body, widens perspective, and allows choice. That night, I brought fear into the room not because I wanted power, but because I didn’t yet know how to regulate it. Love cannot grow where safety is missing.
I see now how terrifying that must have been for you. How final it must have felt. How the trust you had left could not survive that moment intact.
I carry responsibility for that without defense.
But I also want to name what has happened since quietly, without spectacle.
I have learned how to stop. How to regulate instead of pursue. How to sit with discomfort without demanding relief from you.
I am not the man who chased resolution through intensity anymore. I am learning restraint. I am learning silence. I am learning how to let space do what pressure never could.
The man standing here now understands that love without safety is not love it is fear wearing devotion’s face.
I wish I had known then what I know now. I wish my nervous system had been as disciplined as my intentions were sincere.
I cannot undo November 25. But I can live in a way that does not repeat it.
If you ever look at me again, I hope you see not the night that broke us but the man who let it break him open and chose to change instead of harden.
This letter is not an appeal. It is a reckoning.
I am no longer asking to be trusted I am becoming someone who does not need to ask.
