Can you be haunted in a new build?

A few years ago we built a holiday house near a beach, stunning beautiful location, but there’s something off putting about my room that keeps me up at night. The two times Ive had sleep paralysis I’ve been in that room, I have regular nightmares, and my mood plummets. I sleep with my dog, and on multiple occasions she’ll be up panicking and crying. One night she sat awake staring at a corner and growling for around an hour, and wouldnt turn her back to it for the rest of the night. The other night was particularly notable for two reasons- I fell asleep on the phone to my friend, who sent me an audio of me ‘snoring’, but when played back all I could hear were almost soul sucking gasps of air. On the same night a masked man appeared across multiple dreams, in the window at family dinners, across the creek from me on a walk, through a door way, ending in a dream of me in my home bedroom reaching for the mask… I woke up right before putting it on to my dog crying and pushing herself into my chest, I sat up for the rest of the night holding her shaking. My friend also mentioned me getting up and drinking from my metal drink bottle… which was in the kitchen all night. Anywayyy let me know what you think, I’ve always had a vivid imagination but this has only ever happened in this room
