Intel→Apple Silicon external photos music library compatibility

Hello! I just bought a new Mac Mini and it’s on its way. My previous machine was a 2017 Intel MacBook Pro. I keep my music (iTunes) and Photos libraries on an external hard drive.

I’ve read online that some people recommend against using Migration Assistant, and I’m planning to do a clean start on the new Mac to leave the history behind (just manually copying over some important files from my old computer). I don’t plan to transfer any old applications.

My question is: can the new Mac Mini directly use the external Photos/iTunes libraries from my external drive of Intel Mac without going through the Migration Assistant? Or do I need to do anything to make them compatible?

Thanks in advance!
