47F – Looking to connect with other women in their 40s/50s for relaxed, genuine friendship

Hi everyone

I'm 47, divorced for quite a while now, and have been single for the last three years. I have a daughter who’s currently studying at the University of Chicago. The past several years have been mostly about work and navigating some big life changes, but lately I’ve been feeling like it’s time to reach out again and build some meaningful friendships with women who are in a similar chapter.I’ve settled into a pretty low-key lifestyle these days

My ideal weekend would be to do some relaxing morning yoga; take a walk to clear my head; drink coffee on the porch and read a good book; try some new recipes in the kitchen; or dream about my next solo trip to some quiet and beautiful place. I’m long past the late nights out, and now I’m much more drawn to calm, deep conversations and friendships that grow slowly and naturally.I’d love to find a few steady female friends to stay in touch with every now and then — sharing what we’re reading or listening to, talking about the funny or tough parts of midlife, celebrating little wins, or just being there for each other when one of us needs a kind ear. I'm especially interested in connecting with women who are also going through an empty nest phase, or who are simply enjoying this quieter, more independent phase of their lives. Online friendships work very well for me (time difference is not a problem for me at all—sometimes receiving a short message before bed is the best moment of my day)
