Society needs us more than we need them

I’m a 32M (~5’5”) and I’ve been dating this girl (23F, ~5’6”) for about three months. I recently got a pretty big promotion and wanted to celebrate, so I booked a Michelin-star restaurant during Christmas week. The place is usually booked out months in advance, so I was happy to even get a reservation.

Since it’s an upscale spot with a dress code, I went all-in: got an outfit tailored and a haircut. For context, my barber is a ~5’5” white guy and is hard to book (competitive client list, some celebrity clients). My tailor is a ~5’6” Mexican guy and genuinely world-class, also difficult to book.

My girlfriend wore heels because the restaurant is that kind of place, which meant she was noticeably taller than me. I told myself it didn’t matter, it’s a nice night out, who cares.

Dinner was honestly incredible, and the chef (5'4''-5’5”, Asian guy) came out to thank us for dining with them, which was a cool moment.

But on the way out, we walked past another couple and the guy (mid-30s, ~6’0”) stared at me, then looked at his chopped girlfriend and they both laughed as they walked by. My date acted like she didn’t notice, but it got under my skin hard and I’ve been pissed about it ever since.

What infuriates me most is the hypocrisy. Normies will happily take your money, your service, your talent—eat the food, wear the clothes, get the haircut—then turn around and act superior the second they’re not benefiting from you. And we’re all just expected to smile through it and keep playing along. Fuck that. These scumbags go out of their way trying to not employ us and when they do they try to underpay us, and if they don't it's cause we are the best and they can't go anywhere else.

It's time we start using the leverage we have. Men 5'8'' and under in the US are ~33% of the male population but I would wager we contribute way more economically than people assume. We should be prioritizing each other economically—hire each other, buy from each other, recommend each other, circulate money in our own network. I’m thinking about starting a group that does exactly that, because every dollar I can redirect from people who look down on us to someone in our community is a win.

So many of us gaslight ourselves into thinking it’s fine and just “be confident bro” our way through life. Others have accepted this and just lay down and rot.

DM me if you are one of the ones who are tired of being humiliated and ready to fuck over these fuckwads.
