Has anyone adopted a pup or a catto, how do you manage between work and pet if you’re living alone?

Hey, I live alone and have been contemplating of getting myself a furry roomie… i am more keen on adopting an indie pup or a kitten… does it help, how can one manage with keeping up with them especially leaving them alone and go to work…?
