The sand stinks

Question, how do I keep my hamsters sand bath from smelling bad? He uses it as a litter box (he pees in it) but also uses it to bathe. I change it every other or every day but it still smells bad. I usually end up dumping the whole thing out and refilling it. I had previously used hamster sand from petsmart and it didn’t stink as bad but I recently switched to the big bag of reptisand (without calcium) because I go through so much of it. It also doesn’t clump very well which bums me out. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
