Not me losing a run because I misunderstood the boss blind

Newbie here. For the first time, I made it easily to Ante 6, and got the boss blind „you’re only allowed to play one hand“. I had a really good run up until this point, so I thought that would be no challenge. So I used up all my discards and played my best hand possible (which was a three of a kind in that case). Well yeah, of course I was supposed to play one TYPE of hand. Not ONLY one SINGLE HAND. Without any discards left, I couldn‘t get any more three-of-a-kinds and lost. I could’ve easily won. Argh, this game makes me feel stupid sometimes.

Enough ranting. Do you have any newbie advice for me, besides reading the goddamn instructions (lol)? I think this last run was better because I just realized it would mathematically make sense to put the jokers in the right order. Help me feel like a pro.
