No screen tearing at 120fps on a 480hz monitor?
Hey guys. I just got into PC’s just a few months ago so I don’t know a whole lot too much about like frames and refresh rates but I do know about screen tearing. So I just bought a LG UltraGear+ 1440p OLED 480hz with G-Sync compatible. Now I do know people have said oleds have a flickering problem and I did but I went into the monitors settings and turned off the adaptive sync FULLY OFF. In my windows settings I have my refresh rate for my monitor set to 480hz. Now I have an RTX 5080oc and I’ve been playing a couple games where I still cap my fps like one game I capped it to 120fps and it stays there stable obviously but my refresh rate is 480hz and I get absolutely ZERO screen tearing nor input delay at all. In my Nvidia control panel It says g-sync is enabled so is it that? And another game I capped the fps to 240fps and still absolutely ZERO screen tearing. Other games I tried all capped different fps and no screen tearing in absolutey nothing. I’m not complaining but suprised by this. Just curious as I don’t know a whole bunch about this stuff and this lowkey just all sounds too good to be true since people say they’re supposed to match it your supposed to use v-sync or whatever but I have that off too. Any suggestions on why I get absolutely zero screen tearing? It all sounds too good to be true??
