Question for French/Native French speakers regarding the soundtrack narration

For you French players (or French speakers), what was it like playing the game with the story being narrated through the soundtrack? At the end of the day, did it actually make a difference in the theories you were coming up with?

I’m particularly interested in understanding this because, unfortunately, there aren't many games created in my country's industry (though our indie scene is very good, btw). And as a non-native English speaker, even though the soundtrack is there, you often have to choose between paying attention to understand the lyrics and actually playing the game.
