Thoughts on Xu Qinxian and his trial?
Recently a full version of the 6 hour court martial of Former Major General Xu Qinxian was leaked. I'm going through it right now, and...idk, nothing is really sticking out to me yet [at about halfway through]. Xu seems a lot less dramatic and martyr-y than what reports on say, wikipedia, make it out to be.
The only other thing is a note from a political commissar talking about the specific orders, that says "We must ensure to communicate that we are here to provide security and not to put down the students" and "We must prevent traffic accidents. If anyone is ran over or killed it will be seen as deliberate" which feels like it would be an unnecessary or even counterintuitive if the purpose was to massacre protesters.
