Have a thousand dollars, am retired. What would you buy if you were me?

Desired: Something that will grow in value even if it's slow growth, but will give me a consistent dividend higher than 5%. I know it's only a thousand dollars, But I'd like to start a passive income stream that doesn't de-value over time.
