Would the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3i 15.6" Laptop work well with 43" 4k TV? (Budget: $600 CAD)
Currently looking at:
Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3i 15.6" Laptop - Arctic Grey (Intel Core i5-1335U/16GB RAM/512GB SSD/Windows 11)
which is on sale at BestBuy for $550 CAD (Boxing Week).
I like the price and everything looks good on paper, but wanted to get other opinions from someone more knowledgeable than myself when it comes to computers. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Goal: Replace very old laptop connected to TV.
Main use: Smooth 4k playback of YouTube, Netflix, other streaming sites to my 43" 4k TV via HDMI.
What didn't work: I tried using a cheap Mini PC but had to return it, because it was struggling even with playing 1080p youtube videos when connected to tv. I tried changing settings, installed the latest driver from the GMKtek site. Tried other AMD drivers but was getting Error 182 every time. So I eventually gave up.
This is the Mini PC I tried:
GMKtec G10 Mini PC for Home Office & Students - AMD Ryzen 5, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, 2.5GbE NIC LAN Office,Windows 11 Pro, Triple 4K Outputs, WiFi, BT, USB-C, DP.
My Question: Would I run into similar issues with Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3i 15.6" Laptop or would it be able to deliver a butter smooth 4K playback on my 43" TV?
Thanks!
