Male doctor flippantly told me it’s perimenopause…
I’m having a real emotional wobble this week, I’m sorry for the ramble. I’m 34, have conceived twice (went through with one pregnancy three years ago). Pregnancy 1 happened with two forms on contraception at 27, condom (broke) and the morning after pill (didn’t work). I got pregnant with my daughter on the first cycle.
My partner and I decided to try for no 2 6 months ago. In October my periods just stopped… no more, aside from two days in November. I spoke to a male doctor, it took me a week to be able to speak to any medical professional, and he told me it sounds like menopause and said there’s nothing that can be done . My periods were always so regular. I haven’t had hot flashes. No breast pain. I feel okay. I’ve had two blood tests, and apart from low folate they came back clear… could this be perimenopause? I’ve been in tears all day dwelling on never having a second child, regretting the abortion I had in my 20s. Does it really start from periods just ending?
I’m sorry if this is the wrong place to post, I don’t have anyone to ask and I’ve been stressing all day
