I forgot to post the text from my mom the first time.

My mom, is 78, uBPD (diagnosed bipolar). She has spent her career working as a mental health professional and dismissing “borderlines” as, basically, too much trouble to be bothered with. I recently entered therapy and it quickly became clear why my relationship with her has been so difficult. I’ve been grey rocking her for thirty years, live 1,000 miles away and have a text only relationship with her.

The text is what she sent me after she finally let me know that she’s been served an eviction notice. My husband and I have been sending her money for many months as she’s been unable to work. I was clear with her from the start that the money would stop January 1st, giving her time to sort this out. Over the holidays, she revealed that she’s 4k behind in her rent. I didn’t lose my temper or get upset, I just reminded her that a condition of my helping her financially was that she needed to be honest and transparent about her financial situation. She denied lying, said it was due to pride, said she didn’t realize…etc. She was getting ready to meltdown so I told her I was sorry, that I lover her and I left.

She has no assets of any kind, only debt of a substantial but unknown amount and federal student load debt of 45k.

The situation is hopeless. She’s elderly, disabled and is about to be physically removed from her apartment. I don’t know when that’s coming or how I will handle it, I just know it will be arriving soon and I’m unable to stop it.
