Just starting off: route to take
I just signed up for a 70.3, with only a running history.
Bought a used cannondale supersix evo from my LBS.
Here's my training situation: -live in Midwest - prefer not riding winter/rain -have 3 young kids (wife works every third weekend so I've got the kids often by myself, and often picks up extra shifts) -want to do more variety of cardio (currently just run) long term, have more options in my home gym
Given that, I need an indoor option.
Option 1: cheap used trainer off marketplace. Only negative is I'll have to switch it on/off the trainer quite often spring-fall. May end up hating that decision? (1x per week switch?)
Option 2: cheap used peloton or similar off marketplace to ride without subscription. Negative: boring? Not much data?
Option 3: splash out for zwift ride. Use zwift subscription during winter, maybe mywoosh for spring - fall (where I'd want to ride outdoors as much as possible)
I'm imaging i wouldn't keep a full subscription to anything spring-fall, but there will be a decent amount of time I'm limited to indoors when its just me and the kids.
The zwift ride is nice in that my wife could use it too, but she's mostly a runner, not very interested in cycling.
Am I just being lazy by not wanting to bring my bike to basement and back often? Perhaps I'm just buying into thr hype and a sale for the zwift ride? What would you do in this scenario?
