Fire damage rules

Question

Hello. I designed these rules for dealing with fire in Frostgrave. I’m interested to hear what people think of it. Comments and criticisms appreciated.

Frostgrave Fire Rules

Lighting on Fire

A torch or flaming weapon, pushing someone into fire, and certain spells or items can cause a model to catch fire. A model may be pushed into a source of fire after combat. If the model would go into or on the fire it simply stops up against it. Whenever a model is dealt damage by, or is pushed into fire, the opponent that caused the damage rolls a die. If the result is 10 or bellow, nothing happens. If the result is 11 or higher, the model is now on fire.

Fire Damage

At the beginning of a turn, if a model is on fire, roll a die. If a 10 or less is rolled, the fire goes out. If an 11 or greater is rolled, the player rolls for damage against that unit.

New Weapon

Torch | hand weapon | -2 damage | deals fire damage

New Spells

Fire Bolt | Elementalist | 15 | Line of Sight

Adds fire effect to elemental bolt.

Fireball | Elementalist | 15 | Line of Sight

Adds fire effect to elemental ball.

New Items

Incendiary arrowheads | 150gc

Contains five arrowheads, uses one item slot. Arrow damage counts as fire damage.

Incendiary cocktail | 50gc

As fireball spell, no casting roll needed.

You may also add a staff of power or replace a magic item effect with fire damage. As long as your group agrees and you have fun, go wild.

New Creature

Hellfire Demon

Same stats as a minor demon with the addition of fire damage. Also, if the Hellfire Demon’s move action does not bring it within melee range of a unit, it will cast firebolt on the nearest enemy with line of sight.
