Has the imperium ever held parlay with chaos?

I'm sure I've read somewhere that there have been times where orks have sent representatives to declare terms etc but I can't imagine Tyranids ever doing that (for obvious reasons) or chaos. Surely even just sitting down at a table with chaos would be enough to get you killed by the inquisition.
