How is the in flight expérience ?

Hello I just started playing the game, i enoy many aspects of it but am having issue with the flight. It feels very stiff, the ship doesnt seem to keep momentum. My previous experiences with space flight are X3 and Rebel Galaxy Outlaw ( also Outer Wilds i guess but thats another genre entirely ).

Is this like of fluidity tied to the starting ship ? or maybe my shit pilot skills ? Or is that just how the game is gonna be ?

Thanks in advance for the feedback
