used bike for practice

i’m looking at a cbr125 2008, 12000km for less than $2k. the owner claimed last service in march 2025: oil change, coolant flushed, gas tank cleaned and some other maintenance. i planned on getting this strictly for practice and getting used to gear shift, once riding season starts and i get my license, i’ll upgrade to a different bike.

what are some things i should look out for during the test ride? i want to make sure i at least get some good practice out of it instead of having a bunch of issues to pay for, i would prefer to just buy a new bike instead.
