Wedding Restaurant Ideas

Myself and my partner are engaged a year now and we have viewed a few venues in Dublib and Meath, all have been gorgeous but we have come to the decision that it's just too much money that we can't justify spending one one day when we would much rather put that money into our house or starting a family.. with that being said we still want to get married but our idea is that we will have a church wedding and go for a meal afterwards with close family (approx 40) and then do a day 2 in a local pub with more family and friends.. does anyone have any recommendations for good restaurants in Dublin or Meath for something like this? Also, has anyone done something small like this? How did the day run? It's so hard to find much information online about anything other than a normal big wedding reception in a hotel so any advice or insight would be really appreciated! Thanks in advance!
