Can a scheduled c section for choleostasis become a vaginal birth if you are dilated?

I have a scheduled C-section tomorrow for choleostasis but I have had consistent contractions today about 10 minutes apart and I lost my mucus plug. If I go in still having contractions but not closer together and they see the contractions while they’re monitoring me can I request to be checked and potentially have a VBAC? My OB said I’m a good candidate but I could end in another emergency c section if I were to be induced and not dilated at all. Any advice or similar stories?
