Advice for this situation please

A Few days ago I reversed my car into a neighbours car. The car was parked. There is a little bit of damage to the neighbours car.

I told neighbour straightaway and she was nice about it. I explained I would pay her what the garage quotes and not go via insurance. As it is christmas time, neighbour said she will let me know in new year about repair costs as no garage at present. The neighbour and me get on well generally.

Does this seem ok or should I inform my insurance company of what has happened and should she notify her insurance company too, even if both sorting with me paying her directly for repairs. I appreciate its been a few days now though.
