Toddler/floor bed transition?

Hi! My LO is turning one in January and I’m wondering when other parents transitioned their baby from the crib to either a toddler bed or a floor bed?

My mom is getting rid of a new full sized mattress and I’d love to be able to take it since mattresses are not cheap- but I’m not sure if it’s too soon?

Right now sleep for my baby is pretty good, but I know that means it’s only a matter of time before it’s not 😂i know more teeth are going to come soon and I feel like it would be nice to be able to lay with her on a floor mattress and be able to sleep there if need be.

When did you transition? And what was the transition like? Did you wish you did it sooner or later?

I’m also worried about shaking up her routine and ruining my life by doing it too soon 😂🥹 help!
