Seeking advice on Budget DIY hunts

Hello everybody looking for anyone who has gone on a solo out of state hunt. Coming from SE Wisconsin I’ll probably get a rental car for the trip. Just looking to see how much I would spend for a week or two. How hard is it get OTC tags/license and permits and such. Thanks guys!
