Thermal Pads vs Gel

Is there a sure way to know when Gigabyte went back to using thermal pads vs putty/gel? Asking because I purchased a 5080 Aero OC to put in Hyte Y70 - to be mounted vertically.

Thinking Gigabyte would know….
