Flying Emirates to India... use my United number or join their program?

Hi, I am flying from IAH to HYD next month on emirates. This is my first time flying them and I don't have reason to believe I will be flying them regularly in the future. Currently I have my United FF number on the itinerary but I am wondering if there is some reason I should use their program instead.

What does the Hivemind think?
