Citi won't let me pay off credit card balance?
Short story:
-
Started a chargeback process on a fraudulent charge
-
Citi gave me a temporary credit while the chargeback was investigated, putting my credit card balance at $0
-
I voluntarily closed my credit card
-
Citi reversed the chargeback, saying I owe the money.
-
I am unable to log into my citi account, as the credit card is closed, and the username/password terminated
I've called citi (30 minute hold) to ask them how I can pay this. They transfer me to billing (another 30 minute hold), who tells me I need to log into my account, and that account services can help me get logged back in. Transferred to account services (30 minute hold), who tells me I need to speak to billing.
What am I supposed to do here?
Edit: Yes, I'm pissed about the CB reversal. Yes, the charge was legitimately fraudulent. No, I don't even care about the money. I just want to pay it and never work with Citi ever again.
