Looking for a reliable AWD SUV that can be comfortably slept in.
I am big into the outdoors and am looking for a car that can be comfortably slept in during the winter so i don't have to pay for accommodations at ski resorts. I am currently a college student in Indiana where good hiking is hard to find and i tend to do long driving trips on the weekends so reliability and space is a must. I have mostly been looking at full size SUVs.
Requirements:
- Enough space to comfortably sleep in with a proper setup (i am 6'0, would purchase a mattress made for car)
- AWD
- Reliable (Only looking at asian cars unless someone convinces me otherwise)
- Less than 60k miles (could go over for cars with very good reputation like toyotas?)
- $25k with some wiggle room
- Roof rails
Would b nice:
- Carplay
- Decent looking, Not too much of a mom car (want to avoid minivans)
- Want to avoid turbo engines for reliability, seems to be getting harder to avoid with new cars.
Looking at (2019 and later models):
- Pathfinder
- Highlander
- Rav4 (too small?)
- Hyundai palisade
- Kia telluride
- VW Atlas (Reliability?)
- Subaru outback
- Acura RDX (too small?)
If anyone has slept in a car frequently or owned any of these cars and could provide any advice it would be greatly appreciated!
