Is it worth going travelling after I qualify or to prioritise finding an NQ position?
I am currently on a Training Contract and am set to qualify in September 2026. Recently, I’ve really wanted to go travelling, something I haven’t had the opportunity to do much due to my upbringing, which has always been focused on studying and working. I’m about to qualify at 25 and am considering taking a few months to travel.
My question is whether it would be a mistake to take some time off to travel after I qualify in September, or if I should prioritise securing a job and continuing to build my legal career. Would it be better to focus on finding an NQ position right away, or is taking a few months for travel a reasonable decision?
