Gemini Pro unable to provide direct urls?

To give an example, I'm asking Gemini to search for a specific type of car with a few requirements and I request direct links to the resulting answers (be it on autotrader or elsewhere). It comes back with a few links it says are direct, but none are - they're all over the place tbh.

Chat GPT 5.2 manages it with no problems.

Despite informing Gemini the links aren't correct and it acknowledging this (and then saying it has corrected them) - they are never direct links.

Am I missing a trick here? Why is it unable to perform such a simple request that GPT 5.2 does with ease?
