Low AFC for first time ever
Hey, all, I’m starting my first cycle since a miscarriage I had this summer… My AFC count during suppression check today on day three of my period showed only four very tiny follicles (4mm or less) on the left side; on the right side I had one large item that could either be a lead follicle at 10 mm or a cyst from last cycle, and another 4mm… It is not clear yet. I’ve always had a robust AFC. Roughly 11-16 is a normal number for me at the start of a cycle. I’m of advanced age but just had all my numbers tested again and AMH is still decent at 1.8…clinic doesn’t think I’m having perimenopause yet. Wondering why I would have such a low AFC this time. I ate more sugar than normal over the holidays and was a bit more sedentary. Had literally one cocktail (first drink in months.) Other than that haven’t changed much in my routines. I read that MC can cause lower AFC- but my miscarriage was July. Anyone had this happen and have tips? Not looking for age related comments- I’m aware of those factors already. Specifically looking for additional/other potential factors.
