Why is Subaru genuinely so ahh? [discussion]

Like i get how you wont get used to dying and how he wanna protect them all, but he is so dumb and victim mindsetted. Satella was literally telling him to love himself more and he was like i dont get what you are saying. Hes really immature and hes always screaming till my ears bleed. Does anyone think that way? Is the show itself just trying to portray him as someone annoying and idk make him "different" from the boring cliche mcs??
