Advice for collecting

So I'm finally in a place financially that I can get catching up on this version of transformers. For people that are more familiar with comic collecting than I am, since i have none of the comics, I'll be buying the volumes to catch up. What I want to know for the sake of not flooding my room with who knows how many future issues will be released, would it be better to wait for each volume to come out or just buy them by the issue?
