What happened during the 3000-2500yr period between the scorching to Jerboa and Darkstalker stuff that happened?

I just had this weird thought and i was so perplexed. Like nobody knows and i did find a couple reddit posts disscussing this but not much sparked any thing for me. I did like the idea that arc 4 might answer some questions because beryl seems to be an animus who seems to know a lot of things. Like evolution and stuff develops and dragons just did nothing? for 3000-2000 yrrs nothing seemed to happen and i wonder what happened
