Confused about tools of destruction...

FIRST OFF, THIS MAY OR MAY NOT BE CONSIDERED A SPOILER SINCE I AM ASKING ABOUT THE STORYLINE.

So I am currently playing through the entire Ratchet and clank lineup excluding size matters because the controls were clunky and the gameplay was excruciatingly boring.

I am currently at tools of destruction and am in the beginning of the game, and how I understand it is that the evil guy wishes to exterminate the lombax race and that Ratchet is the only one left, the only problem I have with this is that Ratchet meets a certain lombax during the second game, I think her name was Angela and it was hinted at there being a little romantic tension between her and Ratchet at the end of the game.

If Ratchet is the last lombax, does that mean that Angela was killed off or does it mean that the developers forgot about her, is there any references to her that I should look for lore wise, it just felt very wrong when that guy was going on about Ratchet being the last of his kind...?
