Difference in Kameez lengths among men?

I've noticed that in Shalwar Kameez, more particularly the Kameez itself: there are a lot of differences in length. Whenever I get one tailored, I usually have the kameezs length end at the mid/bottom of the knee - but I've noticed that a lot of people, and more particularly Pashtuns have longer kameez lengths which often end below the knee or around the shin area. Does anybody have an actual reason for this or am I just overthinking this?
