MSc Logistics student in the UK with analytics background. Which career path makes the most sense?
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some career guidance and would really appreciate objective advice.
I’m currently studying an MSc in Logistics & Supply Chain Management in the UK (finishing in 2026). Before this, I worked in banking in my home country in relationship management and analytics-focused roles, and I’ve built strong skills in data analysis, financial modelling, Power BI, Excel, SQL, and business analysis. I recently earned my CBAP certification.
Right now, I’m deciding between a few career paths: • Business Analyst / Data Analyst roles • Supply Chain / Logistics / Procurement roles • Graduate or early-career programmes in large organisations
My goals: • Secure a role in the UK after graduation (visa sponsorship matters) • Build a long-term career with progression • Avoid ending up in a role that underuses my analytics background
My concerns: • Whether specialising too narrowly in logistics limits flexibility • Whether my background appears too broad rather than intentional • Which path realistically offers stronger employability and sponsorship in the UK market
If you’ve been in a similar position, work in these fields, or hire for these roles: • What would you prioritise in my position? • How would you position this background? • Are there adjacent roles I might be overlooking?
Thanks in advance for any insight. I’m genuinely trying to make a well-informed decision.
