gonna start SSRIs - how will it help me with my problems?

I have problems in my life that led me to a bad depression, such as loneliness, low self esteem, living in a crappy town, not having enough money. How can antidepressants help with these problems? these problems feel so physical for me and I don't understand how a pill can help.
