VR&E Question

So my VR&E appointment is the 5th of January, and my classes with ASU Online start the 12th, Ive used most of my GI bill, I have 70% disability and I feel like its going to get approved but im not sure how long the approval will take, is it possible to start with my GI bill and switch to VR&E later on or should I hold out until I get approved?
