First short haircut recs

My girlfriend has been trimming my hair lately to save money but last night she cut it way too short and it also just looks positively chopped. I made an appointment for my first “men’s haircut” for later today. Does anyone have any advice for what to ask for or even hairstyle recommendations?

I currently have extra hair to work with at the top than the back and sides, thick wavy hair, and I have a round face. Any advice would be appreciated for this young butch.
