Files keep getting auto-excluded attempting to sync them

I've been trying to sync a folder of pictures with my MEGA Account so I can easily access them across devices, and I find that it is automatically excluding files en masse that I didn't add. This leads to files being inadvertently barred from sync that I don't want. I tried restoring defaults for exclusions, but that doesn't fully work.
