Silver dollars and my father. Price?

Question

Hi everyone.

So my dad is more of a "coin guy" and not a physical precious metal guy. He has a thing he needs to pay for and he has several (40+) silver dollars in various conditions. None of them are super rare.

He has a "guy' that wants to buy them and dad is happy because he bought them in the 1990s.

The ones in what I will call "pocket change" condition the guy wants to pay $28 for each and the others he will pay $30-$40.

Clearly to me that's some BS and dad will not be selling them to that guy.

I don't know what a reasonable price is with the silver market as it is today but it should be more than that.

My question is: If I were to take dad into a precious metals shop to sell them, what reasonably could I expect to get each (as I understand they are probably worth more as silver than as a coin.) also I understand the market moves daily/hourly/minutely, so just a good ballpark number would be nice.

Im going to give him this info and we can either sell them to a dealer or I will buy them from him (at a price that reflects their current value, I don't want my dad to get hosed.)

Thanks

(Also, no I am not trying to sell them on the Internet.) Y'all have a nice rest of the year!
