[KCD2] New to the game - Do you live life and just wander around?

I’m pretty new to the game and have just played 11hrs and I’ve only completed 1 side quest. I’m doing more wandering around, travelling by foot since I don’t have a horse and talking to random people mostly asking about directions so far. I’ve died so many times with random strangers walking through the forests and tend to try to flee from those encounters.

I don’t have a sense of urgency to complete the main or side quests and wondering if there’s a time limit on them?

Do you play the same way?
