Fired from Job. They’re saying my final paycheck will be ready next payday.

Location: California. Exactly what the title says. This is USPS i don’t know if that changes anything. I thought they had to have my final check the day of termination? I forgot to ask during the meeting but i’d assume it be their responsibility to provide it. What should i do?
